GR-11 / Ponni Boiled Rice is type of Parboiled rice. It known for its natural sweetness, soft texture, and excellent nutritional value. Ponni paddy is harvested at peak maturity and processed through a traditional yet scientific parboiling technique, which gives the rice its signature golden-white colour and nutrient-rich profile.
The paddy goes from 85 days of harvesting process. The parboiling process of GR 11/ Ponni Rice begins with soaking the paddy for upto 8+ hours in 70°c hot water, followed by steaming it at high pressure for 10-12 hours. This allows essential nutrients from the bran layer—such as B vitamins, iron, and minerals, to move into the grain. After steaming, the paddy is dried naturally, milled gently, and polished to preserve its natural texture. This method makes Sri R K Ponni Boiled Rice stronger, less starchy, and more nutritious compared to raw rice. The grains remain separate, soft, and non-sticky after cooking, making it ideal for popular dishes like South Indian Meals, Sambar Rice, Curd Rice, Rasam Rice, Lemon Rice, and Veg Pulao.
